On Saturday 21 October, Kew Baptist Church ran the inaugural Highbury Common Creative Festival, featuring a makers’ market, art exhibition and live music performances, as well as barista coffee, food stalls and kids’ activities available throughout the day.

At our October 2017 Delegates Dinner we had the pleasure of inducting Rev Dr Rene Erwich as our new Whitley College Principal.

A highlight of the unit was hearing asylum seekers from five quite different countries tell their stories. Most had left their homes in fear of their lives. Escape routes involved refugee camps in neighbouring countries which provided temporary safety for months and sometimes for many years.

The Follow Baptist Church Bless Collective Food Van was launched in June 2016 and operates at Bourke Park in Pakenham. The Food Van aims to provide a hub for food and friendship for those in need in the local community.
